One more Year

There has been some speculation for the last couple of weeks over whether or not our landlord would be renewing leases. We have heard conflicting reports and this has been a great worry for us as we hadn't done any apartment hunting nor do we have any deposits even if we had done any apartment hunting. So we fretted and worried and prayed. Then the other day our landlord came to our door and we thought something was wrong as that has been the only time he has gone to our door. Luckily he just wanted us to go down to the shop and he wanted to offer us a lease renewal if we were willing. We accepted of course and this has been a great relief for us and a great weight has been lifted. He did need to raise our rent just a little bit but it's only a 50 dollar increase starting in April so our rent will be 475 but that's still good for a two bedroom. He also is FINALLY going to look into our maintance issues himself. He was angry about that but we explained to him that we had been promised when we moved in that they would be addressed after we had moved in this was told to us by our former landlord and of course that was a lie. Our current landlord had wanted us to inform his former site manager of any repairs and use the chain of command and we told him we did we told him and he did nothing. In light of that our landlord wasn't as pissed off and he said he would take a look and together we would decide if he could fix them or help us find another unit. I am glad he is finally starting to care about this place and the tenants in the park because for awhile it was looking like he didn't care at all and because of that it was hard for us to care. Now all he is asking is that his tenants take care of their units well now that we have a partnership happening I can do that.
